The Boast

We need to be vary careful here: Christians and boasting? Well, there is a Biblical precedent – see 1 Corithinthians 9:15.

Our boast (if we may call it that, but we are being fools, but we shall continue) is that we strive to fight the good fight, run the race and keep the faith while still involved in secular “work to do and bills to pay”.

This is *not* to denigrate paid spiritual-gift excercisers (PSGEs). Paul in 1 Cor 9:14 states that the Lord has said that those who preach the gospel have the right to make their living from it. And that’s fine. It’s allowed, it’s good, it’s right – but you don’t have to do it. Paul didn’t. We don’t. But we might do one day. And that would be fine too.

…and since writing this I am now a part-time PSGE. In some ways, I wish I were not.
